Have you ever wondered whether resin scenic bases are worth the investment? I've seen some pretty shoddy castings out there myself so I'm usually on the skeptical side. Today I'm going to review the new Wasteland II series of scenic bases from Dragon Forge Designs , sculpted and produced by Jeff Wilhelm.

The BrushThralls would like to take a moment today to make a few acknowledgements:

First, to Dan "YoungWolf7" Smith. Our fellow BrushThrall was diagnosed with thyroid cancer last year and went through a total thyroidectomy as well as the removal of several lymph nodes. Afterwards he underwent treatment with radioactive iodine. At his one year check up he learned that the cancer was not 100% gone and that it had in fact spread. He has gone back into surgery to have it removed and may have to undergo more radioactive iodine therapy. This is a horrible blow to Dan, his family, and his friends. As Dan is one of our own we invite you to read more about it in his blog, YW7 Cancer Watch 2008. The BrushThralls wish a quick and complete recovery for Dan.

Next, the BrushThralls want to thank Tim Buckley and Ctrl+Alt+Del Productions for the support they have shown our friend. Tim has made it a point to show his support for Dan by posting information and links on the Ctrl+Alt+Del website, and with that help Dan has been able to quickly raise the money his family needs to cover the out-of-pocket expenses associated with the treatment.

Finally, we want to thank the community at large for the outpouring of support you have shown Dan. This has gone a long way in keeping his spirits high.

Keep an eye on the BrushThralls Blog :: YW7 Cancer Watch 2008 for updated information.

Thank you.

the BrushThralls, Rob, Dave, Todd, David, and Dan

Tip #60
Empty paint bottles are great to save for mixing washes, glazes, and unique colors at a later date.
